YUL BRYNNER

Born July 11, 1920, with hair, Yuliy Borisovich Briner (later known as Yul Brynner) was a guitarist, singer and actor. Born in Vladivostok, Soviet Union, he also lived in China, France and Switzerland before arriving in America in 1940. During his years in France, Brynner played and sang Russian and Gypsy songs at numerous Paris clubs. During that same period he became friends with Jean Cocteau, Jean Marais, and Marcel Marceau, who all eventually gave him a taste for acting.
