Kommersant, the Moscow-based nationally distributed daily business newspaper, reported this week that the Chinese company Lifan has stopped selling cars in the Russian market.
The brand is the second most popular automaker from China (after Chery, which sold more than 221 thousand units in Russia). There are currently more than 154,000 Lifan cars in Russia.
According to the sales data of new cars and light trucks of the European Business Association (AEB), in January-March 2022, sales of Lifan cars amounted to zero units.
The hotline phone listed on the official website of the brand does not answer, and dealers have confirmed the absence of Lifan cars in stock and in the near future.
