GABRIEL GARCIA MARQUEZ WRITES TO US AGAIN

El Pais announced today that a final book by Gabriel García Márquez is scheduled to be published in 2024. García Márquez died in 2014 of pneumonia at the age of 87, and his last work was considered an unfinished novel, but is now to be published by Random House as a collection of stories.

The book, “En Agosto nos Vemos” [See You in August], was held in manuscript form in the Harry Ransom Center in Austin, Texas. Its release is designed to coincide with the tenth anniversary of the Colombian writer’s death. Some excerpts had, over the years, been published in El País and The New Yorker.
